Tim Rasmussen, CCIM serves as a senior advisor for SVN | Chicago Commercial specializing in the sale and lease of mixed-use, retail, land, commercial hospitality, restaurant, and entertainment property throughout the Chicago metropolitan area. Rasmussen has been both a developer and a restaurant owner and understands all sides of real estate development.
Prior to joining SVN, Rasmussen was Principal of Chicago Restaurant Corporation for 20 years, owning and operating a string of popular Chicago restaurants including Anteprima, Acre, Ombra, Joe’s Be-Bop Café, Charlie’s Ale House, and Carlucci Restaurant. During that time he was also continuously active as Managing Broker of Rasmussen Realty Advisors, a development and brokerage company. Projects of his include the transformation of a 22,000 SF parking garage in Chicago’s Andersonville neighborhood into a mixed-use retail and light manufacturing building. Tenants include Athletico, Uptown Animal Hospital, a Metropolis Coffee roasting facility, and the renovation of a 6,200 SF former resale shop into a multi-tenant retail and office building.
Rasmussen also provides expert court testimony on behalf of banks, business partnerships, and family law matters requiring cost-effective restaurant valuation and has testified in both State and Federal court.
In an earlier role as Executive Vice President of Leasing for Hawthorn Realty Group, Rasmussen oversaw an 8.5 million SF portfolio of office and industrial properties in Rosemont, Lincolnshire, Lincolnwood, and Oak Brook, among other locations.
A CCIM designee and licensed real estate broker in Illinois since 1993, Rasmussen is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers, Vice President of the Illinois CCIM chapter, Chicago Restaurant Brokers Association, Restaurant Product Council Chair, and earned a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from the University of Tennessee – Knoxville.
